The Jordanian monarch toured Farnborough International Airshow 2026, meeting with aerospace and defence innovators and viewing the latest developments in aviation, autonomous systems and advanced air mobility.
AL Defaiya reported that His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan visited the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 during the event’s third trade day, where he toured a range of international exhibitors showcasing the latest developments in aerospace, defence and space technologies.
The visit highlighted Jordan’s continued engagement with the global defence and aerospace sector, as the King viewed innovations spanning electric aircraft propulsion, autonomous systems, advanced engineering and next-generation aviation technologies.
Tour highlights emerging aerospace technologies
During his visit, King Abdullah II toured a number of exhibition pavilions featuring companies specialising in electric propulsion systems for aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, AI-enabled aviation technologies and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) platforms.
The tour also included demonstrations of drone-based cargo services, urban air mobility infrastructure and engineering design capabilities, reflecting the growing role of advanced digital technologies within both civil and defence aviation.
Farnborough International Airshow 2026 has brought together more than 1,400 exhibitors from 41 countries, providing a platform for governments, armed forces, manufacturers and technology developers to announce new programmes, partnerships and investments across the aerospace and defence sectors.
Defence cooperation remains a strategic focus
The King’s attendance comes as Jordan continues to strengthen international defence and security cooperation with allied nations while investing in modernisation across its armed forces.
Separately, Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Huneiti held discussions in Washington, D.C., with US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas G.
