Delta Cargo, SGL partner for defence and aid logistics

Delta Cargo has partnered with Scan Global Logistics (SGL) to support the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF), naming SGL as its chosen freight forwarder. The collaboration, established under a teaming formation agreement, strengthens both organisations’ ability to deliver critical defence and humanitarian supply chain solutions while reinforcing Delta’s long-standing commitment to the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), according to an official release from Delta Cargo.

“Delta is excited to work with a leading freight forwarder in government and defence logistics that has demonstrated its ability to support the defence supply chain at a moment’s notice,” says Peter Penseel, President of Delta Cargo. “This collaboration reflects Delta’s commitment to serving those who serve and ensuring critical missions have the logistics support they need.”

“Working with Delta strengthens our shared mission to deliver when it matters most,” says Mads Drejer, Global CCO & COO, Scan Global Logistics. “Our decades of experience in defence and humanitarian logistics, combined with Delta’s global airlift capabilities, ensure we are ready to support the U.S. Government and aid organisations around the world with speed and reliability.”

Launched in 1951, the CRAF is a Department of Defence (DoD) readiness programme that allows commercial airlines to supplement military airlift when defence capacity falls short. Under agreements with USTRANSCOM, airlines such as Delta volunteer aircraft to support critical defence and humanitarian operations worldwide. Scan Global Logistics has more than 45 years of experience providing logistics solutions for the United Nations, NATO, defence ministries, DoD contractors, and humanitarian organisations worldwide. As Delta’s designated CRAF partner, SGL will continue to build on its record of supporting defence and relief missions across the globe, the release added. Delta Cargo and Scan Global Logistics will leverage Delta’s global network and aircraft capacity alongside SGL’s logistics expertise to deliver dependable, agile solutions for government partners and customers across the world.
