NP Aerospace to Continue Vehicle Supply for Belgium

NP Aerospace has secured a contract to deliver the remaining 87 Light Tactical Transport Vehicles (LTTVs) to the Belgian Armed Forces.

This agreement is part of Belgium’s broader initiative to acquire 199 military vehicles based on the Mercedes-Benz Unimog platform.

Originally, the LTTV contract was awarded to Jankel Armouring Limited in 2018, with deliveries starting in 2022. In June 2024, NP Aerospace, based in Coventry, acquired Jankel’s assets, expanding its portfolio to include tactical and civilian vehicles, armored technologies, seating systems, and through-life support services.

For the LTTV program, NP Aerospace plans to update production processes and utilize additional capabilities from its Coventry facilities. The company will integrate prior program arrangements with its established practices to ensure quality standards and meet delivery timelines.

“We are delighted to announce the award of this significant contract,” said NP Aerospace CEO James Kempston. “We are now taking the necessary steps to get the LTTV program on track and deliver to the customer’s expectations.”

Kempston also highlighted the positive impact on NP Aerospace, the UK supply chain, and Coventry, where the project will support or create highly skilled jobs across the company’s network of suppliers.

Belgian Ministry of Defence Representative Lt. Col. Jean-François Gennotte expressed satisfaction with NP Aerospace’s acquisition of Jankel Armouring, which has ensured continued support for Belgium’s vehicle fleet. He noted the promising future of the collaboration, given NP Aerospace’s extensive experience in the sector.
